![]() Racer has received a repaint for this season and looks as incredible as it rides the writer was genuinely impressed by it. I could have stayed in the well-presented Area 72 all day but it was necessary to move on. Definitely came back to this one more than once. Without reservation, however, Orion is a fantastic coaster that fulfilled my need for speed and surely ranks as a top five coaster. After five rides in all seats with no waits, I can still stand by this. My take prior was that it was an imposing ride that outdid it’s Canadian counterpart in presentation but was overall slightly inferior. The elephant in Area 72 is Orion, a hulking piece of skyline that I’ve spent the last two years comparing to Leviathan. Flight of Fear is a seriously cool attraction with a bonkers ride experience, perfect blend of darkness and visibility, and great thematic elements the midcourse halt was unexpected but allegedly necessary. Backlot Stunt Coaster’s effects were in gleeful working order but was hampered by a less secluded location than the one at home regardless, this coaster ran much smoother. Mystic Timbers was to be first on the menu but I got lost while jogging and ended up near the park’s bald patch, where I proceeded to walk on both launch coasters in tandem. Oh, and I’ll be drawing an unnecessary amount of parallels between KI and CW, so the reader has been warned. I haven’t seen any Kings Island video content in weeks prior, maybe months, so I had a mostly fresh slate of a perspective. My father wasn’t feeling up to it today and preferred to keep to the train/tower/slides, and without the usual suspects I spent a decent chunk of time on my own. A storm had rolled through in the early hours and perhaps scared away heavy crowds this trend was delightfully consistent throughout the day. We left Indiana around 7:00 and managed to get into the park three minutes before rides opened. ![]() Fate just couldn’t let me revisit the Midwest without the opportunity to nab a park, eh? However, a sudden chaotic operation change last week left me with an extra Monday-Tuesday to play with. Oh, with the notable exception of a school event (pre-college) outside of Indianapolis, strictly taking up the sole three-day weekend that’d been carefully granted by work this summer. The other week I visited Waldameer under the confident assumption that I wouldn’t be travelling too far within the States for the duration of the summer.
